A Serious Man

Plot: A black comedy about Larry Gopnik, a professor who watches his life unravel through multiple events.

Starring: Michael Stuhlbarg & Fred Melamed

Review: I'd call this more of a grey comedy than a black comedy simply because it really wasn't that funny. It was awkwardly funny with Larry Gopnik being pathetic to the point of nervous laughter. Ultimately this was a movie about choices and morality, about how life tests you and God tests you. The question the whole film is whether Larry will pass the test. An interesting, thought-provoking, painful to watch take on the morality play. I was at once disappointed and at the same time enthralled with this film. It was brilliant, but yet I never want to go through watching it again.
