American Sniper (DVD+UltraViolet)2014 Rated: R War Biopic

6X Oscar nominee

Plot: A lot of fans have been waiting for this one to come out. Bradley Cooper plays U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle in Clint Eastwood's Oscar-nominated war drama, which arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 19. You'll have to wait until June 16 for Netflix or Redbox, but if you pick up the Blu-Ray you get special features like "One Soldier's Story: The Journey of American Sniper" and "The Making of American Sniper."

Review: A well-acted film that doesn't live up to the hype of Eastwood. Eastwood has an amazing ability to delve into the psyches of cahracters and into very dark subject matter while still retaining a high quality of Hollywood filmmaking. Indie film subject matters with a Hollywood budget. This film felt like the latter without the former. I'm a military wife. I will always appreiciate a well-shot, well-acted depiction of military life. I like even more that this is a true story. However, I never felt the depth in this that I susually feel when watching an Eastwood film. I felt that the abrupt ending could've been the opportunity to really delve into the dark subject matter of this film, the darkest sides of PTSD. It was a missed opportunity that instead had a Lifetime TV movie-like caption filled tribute with real footage. This would've been fine at the very end, but not the only end. I still enjoyed this film & was quite moved with it, but it didn't feel like the same Eastwood of Mystic River or Gran Torino.

Review: I loved the first movie surprisingly. I just don't like that they couldn't get Cusack back fro the second.

Orange Is the New Black Season 2NR Dramedy

Director: Jodie Foster

Taylor Schilling (Actor)

Plot you've become so connected with Piper Chapman by the end of season 1 that it's almost painful to watch how miserable she is in the first episode of season 2.

Review: I love this show. I enjoyed the 2nd season as much as the 1st season, but it's darker and not as funny. Still a great show that I look forward to for another season.

Chris Colfer (Actor)

Plot: Final Season. The final episode tied things up. In addition to the full season, you can also find some fun bonus extras including behind the scenes footage

Review: I'm still on season 5 and so far am really enjoying the music. I feel like the high school characters that were introduced season 4 are mostly a distracting from the more interesting NYC story-line.

Glee - The Complete SeriesNR Musical

Plot: No deleted scenes, bloopers, or series set EXCLUSIVE special features. THERE ARE NO SPECIAL FEATURES EXCLUSIVE TO THIS SET

Review: I'm still on Season 5, but I like this show. I loved the first season which seemed like a true underdog show with a sarcastic, parody feel to it, felt like the 2nd season got so into the theme weeks that it suffered in story-line, liked the 3rd season more than the second, loved the fourth season and felt like ti was moving and got a breath of fresh air with characters moving on to college, and feel like so far the fifth season has amazing music but the high school characters seem passe and should've been completely abandoned after season 3 in favor of just following all the Glee cast around in their new life. I've heard the final season focuses more on the pre-season 4 cast which I hope is true.

Strange Magic 1-Disc DVD Rated: PG also on Amazon Instant Video

Garry Rydstrom (Director)

Plot: STRANGE MAGIC is a music-filled fairy tale about finding true love in the unlikeliest of places. This magical adventure features a host of colorful characters, including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming. Bring home the enchanting tale the whole family can enjoy today!

Complete Series

Plot:  set in the 1920's Atlantic City, during the prohibition era. The violence was often difficult to watch but violence was an unfortunate fact of prohibition and remains an unfortunate fact of gangs and crime
Review: I'm still on season 1 as I started watching this series late. I really like it so far and find Buschemi as a brilliant choice for the lead.

Review: Ever since I starting working at a children's entertainment company that requires watching Disney as part of your research, I watch so much now. I look forward to watching all Disney and princess theme movies & shows now. This looks cute, but I prefer the old school hand drawn cartoons rather than this CGI style.
