Moon

Plot: Sam Bell, an astronaut on a moon-based facility who's only connection in space is with his computer, GERTY, and only connection to earth is in the form of video messages from his wife, is getting anxious to finally return to Earth. When he has an accident however, he wakens to find that he is not alone. He also comes to realize that his world is not what he thought it was.

Starring: Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey as Gerty

Review: A true achievement. This film was the first in a long time to really move me and surprise me. It was intelligent, well-acted, wonderfully written, original, suspenseful, and thought-provoking. I can't say enough good things about this film. Why wasn't it nominated for any Oscars? I'm dumbfounded. A masterpiece in the vein of 2001 Space Odyssey. Sam Rockwell carries this film, and it couldn't have been left in better hands. You feel his isolation. You feel every emotion he is going through. The subtleties are what work for this film. Watch it again and look for the clues the filmmaker leaves you, in everything from the editing, to the acting, even to the production design. Really amazing.

  1. I know, I thought so too. It didn't get noticed because it was not very well publicized and really overlooked by everyone. I just happen to see it on DVD.

It was hinted at that it might have been "his" ( "the original's") idea to use clones, but they should have used a crew of 3 or more. You need a crew or you would go crazy from isolation.

You are right about clues, just check out the robot.
