Gossip Girl: Season 06 (2012)

Skyfall 2012 5X Oscar nominated action film (Cinematography, Original Score, Original Song, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing) Starring: Daniel Craig (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Oscar winner Judi Dench (Shakespeare in Love), Oscar winner Javier Bardem (No Country For Old Men), 2X Oscar nom Ralph Fiennes (The English Patient), Naomie Harris (28 Days Later), 5X Oscar nom Albert Finney (Erin Brockovich) & Indie Spirit winner Ben Whishaw (I'm Not There) Director: Oscar winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty). Writers: Neal Purvis (Casino Royale) , Robert Wade & 3X Oscar nom John Logan (Hugo).  Trailer Plot: Bond's (Craig) loyalty to M (Dench) is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. Whilst MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Review: I must admit, I'm not much of a James Bond fan. I find the idea of them more interesting than the actual product. The only thing I enjoy is the theme song at the beginning. This one by Adele was amazing and perfectly fit the movie. I fell asleep in the last two, so I wasn't holding my breath for this one. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked this one. The story-line was interesting. The villain (Bardem) was amazing. M (Dench) was really the Bond girl in the story. That's what I liked most. They forgoed convention for a good story line. They didn't create a story line around some model Bond girl that can't act. Dench got to be the Bond girl. All the high octane action and plenty of other pretty girls to look at remain for the diehard fans, but a good story line and non cheesy villain are included. Rating: Noteworthy. Watch with: Mission Impossible 1 & 4.

Silent Hill: Revelation 2012 Supernatural Horror Starring: Sean Bean. Plot: When her father (Bean) disappears, Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) is drawn into a strange and terrifying alternate reality that holds answers to the horrific nightmares that have plagued her since childhood. Trailer Review: This is the sequel to the first movie. Hopefully we'll get some answers left open at the end of the first film. Rating: TBD. Watch with: Silent Hill.

Robot & Frank 2012 Indie Spirit nominated Indie Comedy Starring: Oscar nominee Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), James Marsden (Hop), Liv Tyler (The Strangers), Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking), voice of 2X Indie Spirit nom Peter Sarsgaard (Kinsey), Ana Gasteyer ("SNL") & 2X SAG nom Jeremy Sisto ("Six Feet Under"). Directed by Sundance feature film prize winner Jake Schreier. Writing by: Indie Spirit nom Christopher D. Ford (Robot & Frank). Trailer Plot: Set in the near future, an ex-jewel thief (Langella) receives a gift from his son (James Marsden): a robot butler (Sarsgaard) programmed to look after him. But soon the two companions try their luck as a heist team. Review: I've always wanted a robot like the one in The Jetsons. I changed my mind. I want the robot from this movie except I will name him. This movie was funny and sweet with a few things that you won't see coming. Keep in mind that it is an indie comedy, and you will like it. It's not going to have a blockbuster movie ending. The only problem I had with this movie was that it ended quite abruptly. I wanted it to keep going. It would make a really good TV show actually. It was a nice way to spend an evening cuddling on the couch with my hubby and laughing a lot. Rating: Noteworthy. Watch with: Ted & "The Jetsons"

The Sessions 2012 Oscar nominated (Best Supporting Actress- Helen Hunt) Comedy Starring: Oscar winner Helen Hunt, Oscar nom John Hawkes & Oscar nom William H. Macy. Plot: A man in an iron lung (Hawkes) who wishes to lose his virginity contacts a professional sex surrogate (Hunt) with the help of his therapist (Moon Bloodgood) and priest (Macy). Trailer Review: TBW Rating: TBD. Watch with: TBD.

Smiley 2012 Slasher film Starring: Caitlin Gerard ("Vanessa & Jan ") Plot: After discovering an urban legend of a demented serial killer, who has nothing but a carved 'smiley' on his face, a mentally fragile teen (Gerard) must decide whether she is going insane - or will be the next victim. Trailer Review: TBW Rating: TBD. Watch with: TBD.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012 Indie Spirit nominated (Best First Feature) Teen Drama Starring: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson & Ezra Miller. Written by Stephen Chbosky based on his book. Plot: An introvert freshman (Lerman) is taken under the wings of two seniors (Watson & Miller) who welcome him to the real world. Trailer Review: TBW Rating: TBD. Watch with: TBD.

28 Hotel Rooms 2012 Indie Drama Starring: Chris Messina Plot: A novelist and an accountant (Messina &  Marin Ireland) meet while they are traveling for work, and though they both are in relationships, their one-night stand could become something more. Trailer Review: This film seems to be a realistic portrayal of how infidelity tears not only a couple apart, but also causes hardships for the parties involved. People seem to think that the person who's cheated on is the only person who gets hurt, so that makes people who are unfaithful seem to think that as long as they keep it secret, they won't hurt their spouse/partner. That simply isn't the case. The act of keeping a secret like that going to cause problems even if the secret is never found out. I've never seen a film that explores that secret in an honest way. It's always from the point of view of the party who is cheated on, the poor sap who accidentally sleeps with someone married/involved, or worse, it actually showcases infidelity in a positive light, as if it's some modern, highly evolved way of getting to know yourself, gaining life experience & bettering your marriage (ugh). I hope this movie doesn't turn into that. We'll see. Rating: TBD Watch with: TBD.

Fairfield Road (TV) 2010 M.T.V. Romance Starring: Jesse Metcalfe. Plot: After losing his dream job in politics and learning that his longtime girlfriend has been unfaithful, Noah (Metcalfe) escapes to Cape Cod, where he stumbles into a new romance and an exciting career opportunity while trying to make sense of his ruined life. Trailer Review: TBW Rating: TBD Watch with: TBD

Gossip Girl: S6 TV Drama Starring:  Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley. Plot: In the 6th & final  season of this hit show, the mysterious Gossip Girl (Voice of Kristen Bell) keeps up her reputation for dishing the dirt by divulging the scandalous lives of a group of privileged young adults living on New York City's Upper East Side. Trailer Review: This season should've been a full and not half season. Everything was wrapped up way too quickly. There wasn't enough time for a proper good bye to my answer to post "Sex & the City" fashion awesomeness & over the top guilty pleasure that always seemed to retain its sence of humor; Yes, you will find out who Gossip Girl actually is. Prepare for disappointment. Also prepare for a 5 years later montage, instead of actual character development  I enjoyed this show immensely & will continue to watch it as the years go by, but I refuse to watch that last 15 minutes of the finale. Forget it. I never got my musical episode I was hoping for, either, considering most of the cast can sing. At least I can now finish the book series without getting the plot lines confused. Rating: Stamped out but worth watching Watch with: "Sex & the City", The Devil Wears Prada & "Desperate Housewives"
