Review: First of all, you need to YouTube a video on Temple Grandin, so you can compare her with the actor playing her, Claire Danes. Here's a good one-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKSDSblPMpA.Doctors told her mother to put her in an institution, because that's the way autism was viewed in the 60's. However, with the support of her aunt (O'Hara), mother (Ormond), and teacher (Strathairn), she learned to focus on the talents that her autism gave her and went on to change the face of autism. This movie is seen through the mind's eye of Temple (Danes). You actually get to literally see what it's like to be autistic. You get to see the world the way an autistic person sees it. This made for not only an intriguing biopic and character study, but also a visually stunning film. This could've been a theatrical release and, Danes, an Oscar contender. Forget Forest Gump, Temple Grandin is real. Temple Grandin was simply grand.
Fun Facts: Danes and Grandin spent a half-day lunching and visiting in Danes' New York City apartment as part of Danes' research.
