Review: A great summer movie brought to you by the brilliant but often heavy-handed director Sam Mendes. His films are brilliant, but let's face it, they aren't exactly mood lifters. This is a surprising change of pace that could've gone the route of cheesy road film, but instead retains the depth and realism Mendes brings to all his films. Rudolph stars in a surprisingly demure performance. She is the heart of the film matched perfectly by Krasinski with each location containing scene stealing moments by some of our finest living actors. This movie lifts your spirit, makes you laugh out loud, and puts a smile on your face without sacrificing IQ points. Comedy can be intelligent.
Fun fact: This was a green movie, meaning it was eco-conscious. All vehicles used bio-diesel fuel, caterers used washable dishes instead of throw-away, and recycling bins were provided on set.
