New Article: Red Carpet Weekend Recap Mon. March 30, 2015

Every Sunday I will bring you my recap & reviews of what stars wore on the Red Carpet for new movie premieres.

My Always Criteria: If you're in the cast, stand out. If you're a plus one or an attendee, you shouldn't stand out too much. If you are plus size, pregnant, or of a certain age (60+ or Under 18), then dressing appropriately for body type & age trumps themes. If your covering the premiere, dress appropriately and professionally.

Get Hard

My Criteria: For a movie like this, something street/urban or something quirky cuz it's a comedy

Star Alison Brie in

Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2015 Black Multicolored Striped Dress and Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals

My take: Just in case you didn't know Brie stars in this film, the sparkles should prove it to you. It's a little street with the sparkle & hair & makeup with a little quirky with the multi colored stripes. I want this!
'Get Hard' LA Premiere
Star Edwina Findley Dickerson

My take: I don't know her from anything else. Though this is a great color with a great train to show off her new found fame and star of this movie, it's cheap looking. Not taudry, just inexapensive looking. The accesories also don't match. Stick to beatify shots with this though cuz her makeup and hair are stunning.
"Get Hard" Los Angeles Premiere - Arrivals
Star Will Ferrell & Wife Actress & Producer Viveca Paulin of Nail Polish

My take: Ferrell is quirky and well fit in this vetical stripe on check combo suit. His wife looks like a producer is a work to night wrap pencil dress in flattering color with metallic night time pumps,& a fun pop of color in a yellow clutch. Her hair & makeup look too day time, however.

Star Kevin Hart & Fiancee Eniko Parrish

My take: Hart looks hansome in a well-fitting suit with a skiiny tie that's perfect for his small stature. But he needs to wear socks. Parrish looks stunning in this quirky nautical number, smartly wearing her hair in an updo so as not to deflect attention away from her hubby, the star of the movie.

Tameka Cottle - Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Get Hard' - Arrivals

Tameka Cottle, of R&B Group Xscape, & wife of star T.I.

My take: She has money from years of working in the biz so why does this outfit look like it was bought from the mall matched with a tacky manicure at that. THe saving grace are the accesories & makeup. Her hair styling's nice, but I don't like her dark roots. Pick a color.

Actress/Host/Writer/Designer Alyssa Milano of "Mistresses" & "Project Runway: All Stars

My take: She looks amazing after having her baby. What a way to show off her new-mommy curves. A jumpsuit is so great for a busy mom-on-the-go and fits in well with the theme of this movie. It's perfect pairs with simply black patent leather point toe pumps to stretch her tiny frame, a pop of color on the lips, and a sweet top knot to let the jumpsiut take center stage.

Kate Walsh -
Actress Kate Walsh of "Bad Judge" Fame

My take: I like the teal accesories with her fiery red hair and the idea of a short suit, especially for this film. She's also not too over-dresssed as an attendee. My problem is hoe sheer & how short the shorts are. Pick one please. I also don't like her teased "Real Housewives" hair. She looks like her character from "Bad Judge" donig the walk of shame.

Draya Michele - Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Get Hard' - ArrivalsDraya Michele - Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Get Hard' - Arrivals
Draya Michele of realtiy show Basketball Wives LA

My take: Surprisningly she doesn't look as bad as so many of these reality stars generally look on the red carpet. Why is she here anyway? I digree. The color is nice, her legs look amazing wit ha high slit dress,  the accesories are nice, and her makeup is smouildering. My problems with this look are the less than flattering neckline and the bump top stringy ponytail.

Kelley Bruggere of Android TV

My Take: This is what I'm talking about. Perfect for someone covering a Red Carpet event. Black formal enough dress in black so as not to stand out, much like the crew of a theater production. Professional hair & makeup and earrings that will bring focius to her face on tv.
#GetHard premiere hosting for @thepopcorntalk with @serafinitv 🎬🌟 (at Hollywood Boulevard)
Danica Kennedy, host of Popcorn Talk

My Take: This, however, is not quite right. THe color works as does the hair & makeup. However, she needs a necklace on this open neckline which is too low cut for a tv host and the sleeves will need to be fixed after every cut.

Home

MY Criterai: Scifi, Quirky cuz it's a comedy, Family Friendly,

rihanna-home-movie-premiere-SOSnation.com
Star Rihanna

My take: This is perfect in color, cut, and print. The makeup & shoes are sweet aside from the unneccesary socks which just break up the leg line. The hair is a little messy. A full high bun would've been better.

in  Holly Fulton‘s Fall/Winter 2015 collection coat & dress, Christian Louboutin pupms, Fallon‘s graduated pear rivière necklace, which boasts lavender crystals in increasing sizes. She wore this one in white to a Grammy Awards after-party. Among her rings is one of Xiao Wang‘s Galaxy rings with natural coloured diamonds and sapphires.

My Take: I jadore this from head to toe. Not one thing I would change. It fits all my cireteria to a T.

Star Jennifer Lopez & kids
in pale blue Zuhair lace minidress

My Take: The dress, shoes & kids are perfect. My problem is the beauty shop. I love her hair color, but the style is a little high in the front, thin on the sides and the makeup is a little dark.

Socar winner Octavia SPencer

My Take: I love the color of the top, don't mind a dark rinse jean, and love the hair. Everything else is wrong wrong worng.

2X Oscar nominee Viola Davis of "HTGAWM" with daughter Genesis

My take: Though I like the idea of leather pants & a sweater, this isn't right for a kids event. It's not bad for something else though. Her hair & makeup are impeccable. Her daughter is so sweet.

Garcelle Beauvais - 'Home' Premiere - Album 2
Actress Garcelle Beauvais of White House Down

My Take: Although this fits well with 2 cute prints, they just don't go together.

Olivia-Holt-at-Home-Premiere-in-Westwood-2
Actress Olivia Holt of "I Didn't Do It"

My Take: Cute and age appropriate with cute shoes and lovely hair & makeup. I just don't care for the 3D crafty looking top.

Bunnies!: An Easter Movie List

Bunnies! An Easter Movie List

For Christians, Easter represents Christ's death & resurrection. For Jews, this is the time of Passover (which begins this year on Good Friday). For everyone else, it's a secular holiday. I'm listing Bunny themed movies cuz they're cute and I still like them & see nothing wrong with cuddly adorable bunnies, baskets, & Cadbury Eggs nom nom even if it is also a religious holiday for me. Just remember to explain to your children what the holiday means to your family, and please explain to your kids that bunnies don't lay eggs. That must confuse them.

HOP2011 Animated/Live Action Comedy

Stars: like Russell Brand (voice), James Marsden, and Kaley Cuoco.

Directed by: Tim Hill

Screenplay byKen Daurio
Brian Lynch
Cinco Paul

Plot: The titular character who has very different passion in drumming as opposed to his family's Easter traditions. It's got a little something for everyone including poop jokes, talking rabbits, rock and roll, and popular music.
My movie review: from back in the day when I saw it in theaters lol

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) Poster1998 Animated Crime Comedy
3X Oscar winner

Stars:

, ,

Director:

Writers:

  (novel),  (screenplay),1 more credit »

Plot: A toon hating detective is a cartoon rabbit's only hope to prove his innocence when he is accused of murder.

Why I picked this: I think this is probably the only real successful marriage of live action with animation. The plot is interesting, the animation is amazing, and it's really funny. Caution: Not a kids' movie.

Walt Disney's Bambi poster.jpg 1942 American animated drama film
directed by: David Hand (supervising a team of sequence directors),
produced by Walt Disneyand
based on the book Bambi, A Life in the Woods by Austrian author Felix Salten.
Plot: A doe gives birth to a fawn named Bambi, who will one day take over the position of Great Prince of the Forest, a title currently held by Bambi's father, who guards the woodland creatures from the dangers of hunters. The fawn is quickly befriended by an eager, energetic rabbit named Thumper, who helps to teach him to walk and speak. Bambi grows up very attached to his mother, with whom he spends most of his time. He soon makes other friends, including a young skunk named Flower and a female fawn named Faline. Curious and inquisitive, Bambi frequently asks about the world around him and is cautioned about the dangers of life as a forest creature by his loving mother.

Why I picked this: This movie is the last movie til Finding Nemo to make me cry. It's powerful and sweet and reminds me of growing up.
Alice in Wonderland (2010) PosterAlice in Wonderland (1951) Poster

                    2010 Tim Burton                                      1951
Plot: You can choose any version you like so long as it has The White Rabbit including The Matrix, Disney’s animated, the surrealist Czech version Neco z Alenky, the stripped down 1966 BBC version … or,Tim Burton’s.
Alice in Wonderland themed commercial I'm in.

A collage of faces, in the shape of a head with rabbit ears.2001  American supernatural drama
written and directed: by Richard Kelly
Plot:  The film depicts the adventures of the title character as he seeks the meaning and significance behind his troubling Doomsday-related visions featuring Frank, The 7-foot-tall apocalyptic rabbit.

Why I picked this: This is one of my favorite movies period. It just so happens to have a bunny in it.

Night of the Lepus (1972) PosterPG Horror

Stars:

, ,  |

Director:

Writers:

  (screenplay), (screenplay)

Plot: Giant mutant rabbits terrorize the southwest!!

Why I picked this:  This is B movie fun. So funny. Great movie to watch in a group and drink. Making bunnies gigantic just makes them even cuter.

Winnie the Pooh (2011) Poster2011 Animated Adventure

Stars:

, ,  |

Writers:

(story) (as Stephen Anderson) ,  (story), 10 more credits

Plot: Eeyore has lost his tail, and Winnie the Pooh and his friends hold a contest to get him a new one. Featuring: Rabbit

Why I picked this: Winnie the Pooh was a huge part of my child hood. I even had an Eeyore purple hoodie that I wore well after the age I should've stopped. When I saw this trailer I knew I had to see it.. in the theater, and I did. Also, Zooey Deschanel does the theme song. Amazing!

Fatal Attraction (1987) Poster1087 Thriller
6 Oscar nods

Director:

Writers:

  (screenplay), (short film)

Plot: A married man's one night stand comes back to haunt him when that lover begins to stalk him and his family. featuring a pet rabbit with a very important role.

Why I picked this: Though I cannot fathom how this got nominated for 6 Oscars, as it's considered such a B movie now, it's still a fun, crazy good time with a bunny who you wouldn't think would be so memorable in a movie like this, til you watch it and see.

Movie poster shows a man in a tuxedo holding a smiling rabbit in one of his hands, while the other is raised as if to present the rabbit to an audience. Text at the top of the image states "Pixar Presents A Magical Motion Picturette", followed by the film's title. Near the bottom of the image, is three circles, each containing scenes from the short film.2008 Animated Short

Nominated for Best Animated Short Oscar

directed by veteran Pixar animator Doug Sweetland, in his directorial debut.

Writers:

 ,  (story)

Plot: Magician's assistant who is more interested in carrots. shown in theaters before their feature-length film WALL-E

Why I picked this: I saw this in the theater when I saw Wall-e. It's very funny. You can catch it on the Wall-e DVD or on Amazon VOD.

Monty python and the holy grail 2001 release movie poster.jpg 1975 British comedy

written and performed by the comedy group of Monty Python (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin

 directed by Gilliam and Jones

Plot: It generally parodies the legend of King Arthur's quest to find the Holy Grail & featuring The Rabbit of Caerbannog, a killer rabbit.

Why I picked this: So I know the rabbit is just a small bit, but it's hilarious. Does someone really need that much of a reason to watch Monty Python?

directed and written by Cory Edwards, Todd Edwards, and Tony Leech

Plot: It retells the folktale Little Red Riding Hood as a police investigation, using flashbacks to show multiple characters' points of view, feautring Boingo The Rabbit voiced by Andy Dick.

Why I picked this: One of those rare kids films that can be enjoyed by adults. This is a great parody that's funny, cleverly written, and featuring amazing original music by Ben Folds of Ben Folds Five.
